Terms of Use
Last updated: 25 April 2026
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the MySafePic website at mysafepic.com (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. The Service
MySafePic is a free, browser-based tool that lets you inspect and remove EXIF metadata from your own photos. All processing happens locally in your web browser. No photos or metadata are uploaded to any server we operate.
The Service is provided by an individual ("we", "us") as a personal project. It is offered to you free of charge unless you have voluntarily subscribed to a paid feature, in which case the additional terms in Section 7 apply.
2. Your responsibilities
You agree that:
- You will only upload photos that you own or are authorised to process.
- You will not use the Service to violate the privacy or rights of any third party.
- You will not attempt to disrupt, attack, or reverse-engineer the Service in ways that would harm other users or our infrastructure.
- You are responsible for the content and consequences of any photo you process or share after using the Service.
3. No warranty
The Service is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that the metadata removal will be complete in every edge case for every file format.
You acknowledge that the Service operates on your own device and depends on your browser, your operating system, and the structure of the photo files you provide. We are not responsible for any data loss, file corruption, or other harm that may result from using the Service.
4. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, in no event shall we be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenues, data, or use, arising out of or related to your use of the Service. Our total cumulative liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service shall not exceed the amount you have paid us, if any, in the twelve months preceding the claim, or USD 50, whichever is lower.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability; in those jurisdictions our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.
5. Intellectual property
The MySafePic name, brand, design, and original content are the property of the operator. The Service uses several open-source libraries; their copyrights belong to their respective authors and are used under their open-source licences.
You retain all rights to your photos. We claim no rights over any photo you process with the Service — and as explained in our Privacy Policy, we never receive a copy.
6. Advertising
The free version of the Service is supported by advertising provided by third parties (currently Google AdSense). By using the Service you acknowledge that ads will be displayed and that the ad provider has its own privacy and cookie policies, as referenced in our Privacy Policy.
7. Paid subscription (Pro features)
If you create an account and subscribe to a paid plan to access batch features:
- Payments are processed by Stripe under Stripe's own terms. We do not store full payment details.
- Subscriptions renew automatically each month at the price in effect at the time of subscription, until you cancel. You may cancel at any time through the billing portal accessible from your account page; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
- Refunds are at our discretion. Where required by law (for example, EU consumer-law cooling-off periods), we will honour applicable refund rights.
- Pro accounts may be suspended for abuse, payment failure, or violation of these Terms.
8. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access — including paid accounts — for breach of these Terms, fraud, or where required by law. Sections 3, 4, 5, and 9 survive any termination.
9. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the operator's country of residence, except where mandatory consumer-protection laws of your country of residence apply. Disputes shall be resolved in the courts of the operator's place of residence, except where mandatory law gives you the right to bring proceedings in your local courts.
10. Changes
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date at the top. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
